Primary Name on Your Account Can Now Differ From Your ID

You can now adjust how your name appears in your patron account when it is different from your photo ID. We'll use that name when staff address you and send communications. To update your name, speak to staff during your next visit or call us.
You will still need to show photo identification when signing up for a new library card. You don't need to change your name on any legal documents to update the primary name on your account.
This change helps us achieve the following goals:

  • Reduce harmful and uncomfortable experiences.
  • Provide inclusive service and communications aligned with our diversity, equity, and inclusion values.
