Federal Emergency Management Agency Funeral Assistance

Versión en español / Spanish version

Did you lose someone to COVID-19 and pay funeral, burial or cremation costs? Funds may be available through the Federal Emergency Management Agency Funeral Assistance program (FEMA). First, gather information and documents. Then call FEMA at (844) 684-6333. The helpline is open Monday through Friday, 6am to 6pm Pacific time. Multilingual services are available. If you use a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, give FEMA the number for that service.

FEMA will give you an application number when you apply over the phone. Use your application number to submit the required documents by mail, fax, or online. You can use library scanners, computers, fax machines, and internet access to upload your files. Library staff can assist you with the process. You can get help from library staff in person, online, or by phone. To make an appointment with KCLS, call (800) 462-9600 or go to our Computer Help page.
