Access to Our Services Through MyLIBRO Ends on September 30

MyLIBRO is a voice assistant application (app). You can use it to manage your King County Library System (KCLS) account and search the catalog. You can also use it to access some of our other services.

We offer two apps for managing your account and searching the catalog: the KCLS and MyLIBRO apps. Access to the King County Library System in MyLIBRO will end on September 30. You will no longer be able to use MyLIBRO to access your KCLS account, search our catalog, or use our services. Switch to the KCLS app to manage your library account and search the catalog. Or, use the mobile version of our website and catalog. To manage your OverDrive account and borrow eBooks, try the Libby app.

Starting on September 30:

  • You will no longer be able to use MyLIBRO to:
    • manage your KCLS account,
    • browse our catalog, or
    • use our services.
  • You will still be able to download MyLIBRO from app stores. If you've already installed the app on your device, you'll be able to open it. However, our content will no longer be in it.
  • To manage your library account, search the catalog, and find library hours, use the KCLS app. Or, visit our website and catalog on a mobile device.
  • To browse, borrow, read, and listen to digital titles from OverDrive, use the Libby app.

Why is library access to MyLIBRO ending?

We're committed to managing public funds and resources responsibly. Offering a single app for managing your library account will help us better meet that goal.

We started to offer services through the MyLIBRO app as part of an AI pilot project. This was funded by a grant we received in 2019. In 2020, we used the MyLIBRO app to offer curbside service. Now that the pilot and curbside service have ended, not many people still use the MyLIBRO app.

We will continue to offer access to the KCLS app, which is from the same company that makes our website and catalog.
