Washington State Library’s (WSL) certifications and learning resources will pause beginning June 11. This change may impact you if you use our certification services.
What's changing?
WSL offers self-paced certification prep courses and exam vouchers. These services are shared with local library systems. Our patrons can take free online classes, practice tests, and proctored exams.
WSL is making their process simpler for certification services. They are making a new website and self-service tool. Access to certification services will pause beginning June 11. WSL plans to re-launch the updated service sometime in fall 2025.
Why are these changes happening?
The Washington State Library is unsure about future funding.
What are the changes?
To keep programs going and easier to use, some changes are coming:
- A new self-service tool will let you get course codes anytime.
- Fewer certifications will be offered, focusing on the ones people use and ask for most.
