Mask Requirements in Libraries as State Mandates Change

Throughout the pandemic, we've followed guidance from state and local health officials. After statewide mandates are lifted on March 21, some safety measures may continue. We don't yet know when health orders from Public Health Seattle & King County will expire. Businesses will also retain the right to create and enforce individual safety policies.

You may have questions about how these changes will impact future library visits. We do not have new announcements to share at this time. What we can tell you is that we remain committed to providing a safe environment for patrons and staff.

Masks are still required for everyone ages 5 and older while inside the library.

We will continue to:

  • Follow directives from Public Health Seattle & King County.
  • Use local health data to inform library policies not covered by state and local orders. We will reopen meeting rooms and restart in-person programs when we have determined that it is safe to do so.

We thank you for your patience, cooperation, and support of these efforts.
