What happens if I lose or damage something I checked out?

We'll charge you a fee to replace or repair lost or damaged materials.

Items lost or damaged due to fire or flood

Ask staff to give you a printout of the items’ values for filing an insurance claim.

Stolen items

We won’t hold you responsible for stolen items when documented by a police report.

Lost items

If you've lost an item (book, DVD, CD, etc.), you'll need to pay for the item's replacement cost.

Found items

If you’ve paid for a lost item, you’re eligible for a refund within 6 months.

You must bring the item and your receipt to any library within 6 months of the date you paid for it.

We refund the cost of the item, minus any damage charges.
