The children's librarians at the King County Library System have created a website, Tell Me A Story, with directions to hundreds of fingerplays, rhymes, and songs. Refresh your memory or learn a new song with your child. Most of the songs have video directions and text descriptions.
All of the songs, rhymes, and fingerplays are sorted by title and by subject. Fingerplays are an excellent way to help young children get ready for school, as they encourage them to practice their fine motor skills, which will help them to get ready to write. They also encourage children to practice following directions. Fingerplays are interactive and fun and a great way to share language with young children!
