Starting on October 28, you can take a survey about the main menu on our website. Your responses will help us make it easier to find information in the menu. Continue reading to learn more about the survey.
What is the main menu?
The main menu is the menu at the top of every page of our website and catalog. Currently, we organize all of the main menu links in these categories:
- Catalog
- Books and More
- Online Library
- Calendar
- Kids and Teens
How can I take the survey?
Look for the survey in the alert message at the top of every page of the website.
The survey will ask you to:
- Answer a few questions about yourself. It will ask if you work for the library and if you live in King County.
- Complete 8 tasks. It will ask you to click on the option in the test menu or “tree” where you think you would find the answer to each task.
- Answer a few questions about the test labels and our current website.
When can I take the survey?
The survey will start on Friday, October 28. It will close when we’ve received enough responses.
How long will it take to complete the survey?
The test may take about 15-20 minutes to complete.
Who can take the survey?
All library users are welcome to take the survey.
How did you come up with the options for the survey?
We created the survey using:
- Website use data
- Usability practices
- Accessibility practices
- Feedback from library users, including previous usability testing
Can I take the survey on a mobile device?
Yes. It may be easier to complete this type of survey on a computer than on a phone or tablet though.
