The Vashon Library is getting some updates! The Library will close for construction from November 25-December 3. Then, Vashon will have limited hours until December 20. During the closure, you can pick up holds and return items across the street at Vashon Village. We’ll be updating the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Learn what to expect.

Last day to visit the building before construction begins.
Sunday, November 24
The Vashon Library is normally closed on Sundays.
Monday, November 25
Closure begins.
Tuesday, November 26- Tuesday, December 3
Pick up and return items across the street at Vashon Village.
Thursday, November 28
Closes for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Wednesday, December 4
Vashon Library building reopens with modified hours and services.

Open with modified hours and services.

Holds Pickup and Returns at Vashon Village
From Tuesday, November 26-Tuesday, December 3, you can pick up holds and return items across the street.

These limited services will be offered during the following hours:
Monday-Friday, 10am-6pm (closed Thanksgiving)
Saturday, 11am-6pm
You can also return items later, as we do not charge late fines, opens a new window. You can pick up holds at the Vashon Library again when the library reopens on December 4.
Parking
The parking lot will remain open but space may be limited during construction.
Wi-Fi
You can continue to access Wi-Fi in the Vashon Library parking lot during the closure. Signal strength may decline the further you are away from the building.
Programs and Events
Find library events hosted at community locations on Vashon Island during the closure.
Meeting Rooms
You will not be able to book a meeting room while the building is closed. Meeting rooms will remain unavailable throughout the full duration of the project. Bookings will resume on Saturday, December 21.
Modified Hours After Building Reopens
The Vashon Library building will reopen on December 4. Construction work will continue through December 20. During this time, the Vashon Library will be open with modified hours.
