The King County Library System (KCLS) welcomes Chase Gallagher as the new communications and marketing director. Gallagher joined KCLS on July 1, and reports to KCLS Executive Director Heidi Daniel.
Gallagher brings more than 15 years of strategic communications experience across the public and private sectors. He most recently served as the communications director for King County, the largest local government in Washington state, where he led communications efforts on public health, chronic homelessness and policy initiatives for King County Executive Dow Constantine.
Previous roles include working in executive communications at Alaska Airlines, as the media manager for Governor Jay Inslee and as a communications manager at the Department of Ecology. He also works with the White House on Presidential events.
“We are excited to welcome Chase to KCLS,” stated KCLS Executive Director Heidi Daniel. “His impressive communications and leadership experience will serve him well in this role, and we look forward to working with him.”
“The public library was a focal point of my childhood,” said Gallagher. “It’s where we learned and explored, grew as readers and were able to see the world a little bit differently. That’s why it’s so exciting to join KCLS and help open those doors for more people across King County. I’m looking forward to continuing in public service, and helping the communications and marketing department grow and deliver for the communities we serve across the region."
Gallagher holds a bachelor's degree in political science from the University of Washington, and he is a lifelong resident of Washington state.
