The King County Library System releases 2022 Best Books

KCLS librarians and staff members share their favorite books of the year

The King County Library System has released its 2022 Best Books list. The annual list reveals KCLS’ top 100 books of the year and includes 25 titles in each of the following categories: fiction, nonfiction, children and teen.

Best Books are nominated by KCLS librarians and staff members who, collectively, read thousands of books each year. A selection committee then reviews the submissions and determines the final list. The 212 nominations received this year span a range of genres, from history to fantasy and science fiction.

“KCLS is thrilled to present our 2022 Best Books list," stated KCLS Director of Collection Management Services Tracey Thompson. "One of my favorite titles is ‘The Woman in the Library’ by Sulari Gentill, a gripping mystery within a mystery. We hope you discover some new favorites too!”
