Some Libraries Opening for Visits On July 13

These libraries are opening for visits on July 13. You can now pick up holds, browse, use computers, print, and get help from staff inside the library.

You cannot pick up curbside holds or prints. Surprise bags are no longer available. Did you have holds ready when your library closed Curbside service? You can still pick them up inside the building. Hold expiration dates have been extended. Check your account, opens a new window or give us a call to find out how long your library will hold items for you after they open.

Libraries no longer close for cleaning throughout the day.

Prefer to send your holds to a different location as libraries reopen?

Call your library. The phone number can be found on your library's location page. Ask for your holds to be sent to a nearby library that's open for visits. You can view a complete list of libraries that are open and browse them on a map. Please note that it may take 1-2 weeks before your holds arrive at the new location.

If you choose this option, you may also want to update the preferred pickup location in your account.

    Customer Service

    Ask KCLS staff are unavailable for email, chat, or phone calls on holidays. Staff are unavailable to respond to questions on our social media accounts.
     

    Digital Access

    You will continue to have access to your online account and digital collections. You can download eBooks, stream music and movies, and more. Find digital services that you can use while libraries are closed.
     

    Returns and Locker Holds

    Book drops and Self-Check-in stations are open on holidays. You can return items to book drops while we are closed.
     
    Lockers are available as a hold pickup option at select library locations. Lockers are available 24/7. If your holds are ready to be collected from a locker, you can pick them up on a holiday.
     

    Your Next Library Visit

  • Yes. You or your small group can reserve a study room. Find a room and request a reservation.

  • You or your small group can make an online reservation to use a study room once per week at each library. 
     
    There are no limits to how often you or your small group can drop in to use a study room. If you don't have an advanced reservation, you may still be able to use a study room. Check with staff about availability during your visit.
