OverDrive Download Options in the Catalog Have Changed

OverDrive is a library vendor that provides digital reading services. Through OverDrive, you can check out eBooks, downloadable audiobooks, and magazines. They recently changed the formats that you can download in our catalog. You can no longer download EPUB, PDF, or MP3 titles from the catalog. You can still access these titles in other ways. This change will help simplify formats and continue the move to the Libby app. Learn about other ways to read or listen to digital titles below.

Now, after borrowing an OverDrive title in the catalog, you can:

  • Read or listen instantly in your browser. (Choose the “Read now in browser” or “Listen now in browser” button.)
  • Send eBooks to Kindle. (Choose the “Read now in kindle” button.)
  • Use the Libby app to download titles directly to your mobile device. If you want to download an eBook to your eReader, follow these steps to do so through Libby.
  • Use our OverDrive website to download EPUBs, PDFs, or MP3s. You can only download MP3s if you already have OverDrive for Mac or Windows on your computer. OverDrive no longer supports new installations of this software.
