New Expanded Hours at Some Libraries Starting June 25

An Excessive Heat Watch has been issued for Western Washington from Friday to Monday. We are working to expand hours and services to meet the critical need for cooling shelters this week.

Several libraries are already open for visits on Fridays and Saturdays. Use our location finder map to find a nearby library that's open this weekend.

Under normal circumstances, all KCLS libraries are closed on Sundays and Mondays. To meet cooling needs, Vashon Island Library will be open on Monday, June 28, from 10am-6pm.

Visiting hours at these libraries expanded June 25. You can now find more open hours for browsing or using a computer. Or, stop by to cool off in the air-conditioned space.

These libraries are open for 7 hours at a time, instead of just 3 hours at a time. They will no longer close for cleaning throughout the day. All libraries that are open for visits are now open for 7 hours at a time.
