King County Library System (KCLS) is pleased to announce that the King County Library System Foundation has hired a new executive director. Lisa Yamasaki joined the Foundation on April 3 to lead fundraising, development and outreach efforts. She reports to the KCLS Foundation board of directors.
ThePrior to joining the KCLS Foundation, Yamasaki served as the director of development for Encompass, a nonprofit organization that partners with families to build a healthy foundation for children of all abilities. She has also worked as a corporate affiliates associate at the University of Washington and a special events manager at Childhaven. Yamasaki volunteers at the Snoqualmie Valley Food Bank and serves on the City of Snoqualmie Community Center advisory committee. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication from Western Washington University and is a 2021 graduate of Leadership Eastside.
“KCLS welcomes Lisa’s impressive experience, and we look forward to seeing the Foundation grow under her leadership,” said KCLS Executive Director Lisa Rosenblum.
“I am excited to join the KCLS Foundation and its dynamic team,” added Yamasaki. “I look forward to increasing our visibility, cultivating new partnerships and growing our financial support.”
The KCLS Foundation promotes literacy, learning and libraries by providing support beyond public funding for initiatives and resources that enable KCLS to better serve their communities. KCLS and the Foundation work together to offer core library services while making creative ideas and pilot programs possible.
