The City of Auburn loves its parks! And the Auburn Library is lucky to have beautiful Les Gove Park right outside our doors. Les Gove Park is undergoing several changes, including work for the last few months converting a former road through the park, Deal’s Way, into a lighted plaza area. It’s all part of the city’s Les Gove Park Master Plan! Look for completion of this phase by Memorial Day weekend, when the kids' Spray Park officially opens for the summer.
From the Master Plan: “Reimagining Deal’s Way as a pedestrian space allows kids to safely travel from play to library to museum, while still functioning as a fire lane or access road for food trucks during gathering times. Parking is replaced by the reconfigured Auburn Way lot, which will be re-striped, and the slightly expanded and re-striped 12th Street lot. A new H St. SE extension allows this to happen while also reducing traffic congestion in the adjacent neighborhood.”
Look for the Auburn International Farmers Market at Les Gove Park this summer as well, Sundays 10am-3pm!
