The Issaquah Library will close for construction Monday, October 14-Saturday, November 30. Pickup will be available at Service Center during limited hours.
During this time, we'll complete the following projects:
- Roofing repairs
- Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system replacement
- Automated materials handling system replacement
We expect the library will reopen with full services on Sunday, December 1.

Pick Up at Service Center During Select Hours
During much of the closure, you will be able to pick up, return, and browse items at our nearby Service Center. Service Center is located just one mile from the Issaquah Library. These services will be open three days a week, Tuesday, October 15-Thursday, November 21.

Services Available:
- Pick up holds.
- Drop off returns.
- Browse a limited number of new and recommended books on display for same-day checkout.
Limited checkout services end at Service Center after Thursday, November 21. You will no longer be able to pick up holds or browse items there.
Returns
You can return items to the manual book drop at Service Center.
Timeline
Sunday, October 13:
Last full day of service and opportunity to pick up holds at the Issaquah Library until December 1.
Monday, October 14:
Full building closure begins. You will not be able to enter the Issaquah Library or return items to the manual book drop. Partial parking garage and road closure. The section of 1st Place NW at Newport Way between the parking garage and library will close. You will not be able to enter the upper level of the Issaquah Library parking garage on these dates.
Tuesday, October 15:
Limited services begin at Service Center. You will be able to pick up, return, and browse items at our Service Center three days a week.
Tuesday, October 22, and Monday, November 4:
Partial parking garage and road closure. The section of 1st Place NW at Newport Way between the parking garage and library will close. You will not be able to enter the upper level of the Issaquah Library parking garage on these dates.
Thursday, November 21:
Last day to pick up holds at Service Center.
Friday, November 22:
Limited checkout services have ended at Service Center. You will no longer be able to pick up holds or browse items there. You will still be able to return items to the manual book drop at Service Center.
Sunday, December 1:
The Issaquah Library reopens with full services. Should any unforeseen circumstances arise changing this date, we will update this post.
Parking and Street Access at the Issaquah Library
The lower parking garage will remain open during the building closure.
The upper level of the parking garage and access to Newport Way from 1st Place NW will close during crane work. You will not be able to enter the upper lot or 1st Place NW between the lot and the library on the following dates:
- Monday, October 14
- Tuesday, October 22
- Monday, November 4
