Burien Library Closed for Repairs

Updated 5/25/2022: Patrons that had holds ready for pickup at Burien have been placed at the top of the holds queues. We will get you the next available copy as soon as possible. These holds will automatically be sent to the White Center Library, opens a new window. Items newly in transit to Burien will also be redirected to White Center.


The Burien Library is closed until further notice. A fire in the book drop resulted in smoke and water damage in the building. Please check the library location page for updates.
 

Holds and Print Pickup

The expiration dates for holds that were ready for pickup at Burien have been extended. These holds are unavailable for pickup and will not be sent to another location. That will also be the case for items in transit to Burien, and new holds that arrive during the closure.
 
Burien holds will not be available for pickup until the location reopens. We currently estimate Burien will be closed for at least one week. We apologize for the inconvenience and delay in holds availability.
 
We are currently assessing the damage and verifying a timeline for repairs. In the case of an extended closure, we may make an alternative plan for holds pickup. We will update this post when more information about the reopening date is known.
