National Library Week

National Library Week is April 7-13. Join the celebration and show your appreciation for libraries.

Create a Video

Join us in celebrating National Library Week and your local community library! Create a short video celebrating what you love most about your community library.

How do libraries make a difference in your life and community? What is the best kept secret at your library? What do you love most about the library you visit?

Tell us and your community by creating a short video.

Promote Your Video

There are two ways to share your video – and you don’t have be on social media to participate.

Option 1: Share videos on your social media accounts. Use the hashtags #NationalLibraryWeek and #KCLS and tag us.

Option 2: Send us your video by the end of Sunday, April 7. After submissions close, we'll create a compilation of select clips. That compilation video will then be shared with staff and on social media.

Video Guidelines

Follow these tips to make it easier for us to edit your video into the compilation:

  • Create your video in the horizontal, landscape orientation.
  • Limit your video to 1 minute (60 seconds) in length.
  • Add a pause before and after your message.
  • Be aware of background noise. Try to find a quiet place to record your video.

Send File

Use the form below to send us your file by 11:59pm on April 7.
