Put up pictures of insects on a board. Talk about what each one is, then have children hide their eyes (no peeking!) while you rearrange and hide one under a piece of paper, felt, etc. Then have children open their eyes and chant with you:
Chant rhythmically, slapping hands on thighs
Insects, insects,
So many insects
We can see outside (circle fingers around eyes like binoculars)
Insects, insects,
So many insects
Which one does this hide? (point to hidden insect)
Let children guess answer and then reveal hidden insect dramatically. Repeat, rearranging each time.
