The Forsyte Saga [streaming television]
This exciting story shows the eventful life of the aspiring British Forsyte family, at the turn of the 20th century. The television series covers three generations of the Forsytes, as they become one of the most influential families in London society in 1880 through family spirit and good business skills.
Superior, arrogant, and full of self-confidence: on the surface, the Forsytes are paradigms of the powerful families of the Victorian age. But beneath the surface they suffer, for their days are dominated by drama, tension, jealousy, love, and hate, and they are in relationships that are unhappy or even brutal.
The story of the Forsytes unwinds in dramatic events that focus on the struggle between traditions and the liberation from social shackles, and the numerous contradictory traits of the characters reveal the end of an epoch. Recommended for ages 15 and older.
