H2O: Just Add Water [streaming television]

This series tells the story of three Australian girls, Emma, Rikki and Cleo, who can transform themselves into mermaids. They start out as ordinary teenage girls, but that soon changes when they go on a boat trip and get stranded on Mako Island. Trying to find their way back, they end up in a crater that they can only leave by diving. They are not aware that swimming in the moonlit water would transform them.

But the next day, they discover that ten seconds of contact with water would turn them into mermaids, and they would not transform back until they are dry! The three discover that each of them has a special power: Cleo can make water into any shape imaginable, Emma can freeze water, and Rikki can heat it. In addition, each episode brings a complication. Emma, Rikki and Cleo have different personalities, so that everyone can find a girl to identify with.

There are 26 episodes, each about 25 minutes long. It’s hard to stop watching this series! Recommended from age 10.
