Simple Sewing Books and More

Like many of the "lost arts," sewing has undergone a recent surge in popularity, largely due to social media (check out Feedspot's "Top 100 Sewing Blogs and Websites to Follow in 2018" for starters) and thanks, in part, to the huge hit Project Runway. However, there are a lot of other reasons people take up sewing. Sewing provides an outlet for creativity and individuality, as well as a sense of satisfaction in completed projects. Sewing your own clothes appeals to the eco-conscious and allows those seeking better quality, organic or fair trade fabrics to choose the types of materials they wear. It can also save you money and there is a large DIY culture in the world of sewing that favors upcycling, reusing items to make new creations.

Learn new techniques for all levels of sewing from hundreds of how-to videos available through Access Video or from the selected titles below.
