Biting your fingernails in dread when you think about taking the SAT or the ACT? Come sit down with tutors at three libraries this summer who will help you prepare! You can get help using resources, practice answering real test questions, and study different sections of the test.
Tutoring sessions are held at:
Newport Way Library, Sundays, July 9 - August 13, 3-5 pm
Bellevue Library, Tuesdays, July 11 - August 15, 4-6 pm
Mercer Island Library, Wednesdays, July 19 - August 16, 6:30-8:30 pm
To access online library resources like Testing & Education Reference Center or Lynda.com, you'll need your library card or KCLS student account number. There are also other free online resources for SAT test prep like Khan Academy. And The College Board even has an app for daily practice.
Not sure which test to take? The Princeton Review compares the differences. You can also attend New SAT vs. ACT: Preparing for College Entrance Exams at the Newcastle Library.
Check out these books for official guides and practice tests from the makers of the exams:
You can also take a practice test at the library, and explore the many workshops and classes in our fall Life After High School series that will help you get ready for going to college, getting a job, or even starting your own business. Look for more classes to appear on the calendar in August. Your library is here to help!
