On Monday, August 24, Overdrive, opens a new window will move our RBdigital audiobooks into its collection. After August 24, audiobooks will no longer be available to borrow through RBdigital.
At a future date, RBdigital magazines will move to Overdrive. For the time being, please continue to enjoy them as usual on the RBdigital website or app after August 24.
Why the Change?
Overdrive and RBdigital have partnered to streamline content delivery. Overdrive will take over the digital part of the Recorded Books business. Recorded Books will continue to produce audiobook versions of your favorite books.
What if I Have Audiobooks Checked Out That Are Due After August 24?
Current checkouts will be available for the rest of their lending period. RBdigital and Overdrive will honor all loans that were checked out before the 24th! You can read on the RBdigital app or browser until it is due.
You will not be able to renew the item or check out more titles on RBdigital after August 24.
Important Notes for Your RBdigital Account
RBdigital and Overdrive will honor all loans that were checked out before August 24. This includes any audiobooks you have on hold, your history, and your wish list.
Your holds will not transfer to OverDrive. We recommend that you export your transaction history (your loan history), and take note of your holds by the end of Sunday, August 23. You will need to place new holds in Overdrive.
When Can I Replace My Holds in OverDrive?
You'll need to wait until the RBdigital collection has finished moving to OverDrive. We anticipate that you'll be able to place holds as early as the evening of August 24.
How Do I Export My Transaction History?
You can export your transaction history by logging into your RBdigital account from a desktop computer. You are not able to export from the app.
Open the menu, click on My Account, and then Profile. Look for a small link at the bottom of the page. It is just above the grey "Save" and red "Cancel" buttons. This will give you the option to "Export My Transaction History."
Your history will be exported as a .CSV file. You can find the file in the location where your browser typically saves downloads. CSV files can be opened in most spreadsheet programs such as Excel, Numbers, and Google Sheets.
What's the Last Day to Export my Transaction History?
You have three weeks to export your data. You'll want to run your export by Sunday, September 13 at the very latest.
