Pass That Driver’s Test!

Ready to join the traffic in the Puget Sound area as a new driver? Let us help you master the Washington State driver’s test. Whether you are getting your permit or license, or you just need to refresh for the senior citizen’s test, use to prepare.

While you will still need to read the Washington Driver Guide, provided on the website or at your local library branch, you now have more ways to practice. The site includes various practice tests, ranging from the questions needed to complete the test to a test specific to road signs and other items. There is also an exam simulator. Patrons do not need to register to take the practice tests.

I sat down to give it a try. Though my other job is a Metro bus driver, I found that the tests were challenging, but a perfect way to refresh and a great tool for new drivers.

Not sure exactly what to do when a school bus stops and there are flashing red lights? This interactive test will make sure you do and explain why the law is necessary, including a picture illustrating the various laws when there are two or four lanes. One great aspect of the test site is that it lets you know immediately whether your answer is correct, then gives you an explanation of the response, whether you were correct or incorrect. It also lets you go back and see which answers were incorrect.

The website also features motorcycle and CDL tests plus two practice tests in Spanish (WA DOL Permit Practice Test in Spanish 2017 (Road Signs) and Road Sign DMV Practice Test in Spanish 2017). There is also a Spanish translation of the Washington Driver Guide.

Study hard and have safe travels!
