Join Us for a Delicious Big Library Read

Text: Any way you slice it, you're going to love Art of the Pie. Image of Art of the Pie book cover and Big Library Read logo.Fresh off the heels of Pi Day, join fellow readers from across the globe in the Big Library Read by reading and discussing Kate McDermott's Art of the Pie from March 16 to 30!

Just what is the Big Library Read? Think of it as a digital book club that anyone can join. OverDrive, the service that powers most of King County Library System's ebook downloads, sponsors the program by providing unlimited downloads of the current Big Library read selection to anyone with a library card—no holds and no waiting!

The current selection, Kate McDermott's Art of the Pie, sounds delicious! Part cookbook and part memoir, McDermott shares her years of pie-making expertise with tips and recipes for crusts, filings, and living a pie-filled life.

You can check out Art of the Pie from March 16-30 using the link above, or by visiting the KCLS OverDrive page. You can also download a reading group guide and a welcome letter from the author on the Big Library Read website.

Let your fellow readers know what you think of the book and leave a review in the catalog, join the discussion on the Big Library Read website, or post a comment at the end of this post. (Bonus points if you make a pie from a recipe in the book!) If you get truly inspired, you can even visit McDermott at her pie cottage in Port Angeles, WA, for a pie workshop. Yum!
