Job Seeker Workshops
WorkSource offers online workshops for job seekers in six different languages. The workshops are about job search strategies and perfecting applications. Currently, the languages include English, Russian, Ukrainian, Somali, Farsi, and Amharic. Each workshop in those languages will be facilitated twice monthly. Select the month in the list of available workshops and scroll down to find your choice of language and register for the workshop.
Events for Job Seekers and Small Business Owners
For job seekers and small business owners, King County Library System (KCLS) offers "phone-in" and "online" events.
ANEW offers free training for anyone interested in getting into a career in construction. This field has jobs often starting at $20-$30+/hour. Attend information sessions to learn more about programs and to enroll.
The Welcoming Center at Kent Library is a place for immigrants, refugees, and new arrivals. The center connects people with resources in the area. You can schedule a free 45-minute phone consultation with an immigration attorney. Appointment times will be set by the participating attorneys.
Make an appointment for one-on-one counseling with a SCORE mentor. The mentor helps you with your startup or your existing business. Navigating COVID-19 issues can be also addressed.
