My Guilty (Reading) Pleasure

Just take a gander at that cover, eh? What self-respecting hard science fiction nerd like yours truly is going to be anything but embarrassed to be seeing reading this book?

But darn, it's addictive fun. Written by award winning SF-writer Anne McCaffrey (Dragonflight, Dragonsong), its been read and re-read by her many fans (including me). The heroine survives being abducted by horrific aliens who literally see us as cattle to be eaten, only to be rescued by other aliens where she helps start a political revolution. It's chock-full of space-opera sci-fi goodness. And the romance sub-plot is good value, too.

But oh lordy, that cover.

Now, between self check-out and the King County Library System's extensive collection of eBooks, even if it's a guilty pleasure, that's between you and your self-image. Your local library is just here to get you the books you want to read, the books you enjoy reading!

So what's your "guilty pleasure"?
