How do I participate?

As in past years, participation is super easy. Pick up a 10 to Try bookmark at your local library or track your reading online using Beanstack.
If you'd like a 10 to Try bookmark, you can request one via Curbside to Go. Request your bookmark in one of three ways:
  1. Request a 10 to Try bookmark in the “Any special needs for this pick up?” field when making a curbside appointment via myLIBRO.
  2. Request a 10 to Try bookmark in the “Add a note” field when making a curbside appointment online.
  3. Request a 10 to Try when calling to make a curbside appointment.
Read a book in each of the categories. Then, send a picture of your completed bookmark to to enter the grand prize drawing. Tracking your reading online? You'll be entered automatically when you finish the challenge!

Is there a prize?

Thanks to the KCLS Foundation, three 10 to Try finishers will win a set of books picked out just for them by a librarian. Think of it as a BookMatch that you get to keep! You have until December 31, 2021, to finish the challenge. Grand prize winners will be announced in early January.

Where can I find books to complete each category?

Sign up for our quarterly 10 to Try newsletter to have suggestions delivered directly to your inbox. We'll be blogging about 10 to Try and posting new booklists at all year long.
