1968: Tribal Chair Florence Starr Wynn and KCLS staff member Betty Jo Van Hoose open first Muckleshoot Library at the Tribal Community Center

1969: Library is destroyed in fire; Bookmobile service begins

1975: 1,600-square-foot library opens in the Muckleshoot Tribal Center

2008: Opening of new, 6,000-square-foot library on Auburn Enumclaw Road SE

Native American Collection

Collection includes books, DVDs, video, maps, and archival information on:

  • North American History from Native American, popular culture, and government perspectives
  • Religious and cultural customs and norms
  • Mythology
  • Crafts and cooking
  • Whulshootseed Language

Materials are shelved in open stacks, which you are free to browse.
Archival information is available for in-library use only. Upon request, materials may be sent to your local KCLS library for viewing.
