  • 1953: Bookmobile service begins
  • 1973: Opening of first Kingsgate Library, with funds from KCLS; Formation of Friends of the Kingsgate Library
  • 1974: First annual Friends book sale is held
  • 1999: Renovation makes electronic services available
  • 2016 Newly renovated library opens

Kirkland Library Advisory Board

Library Advisory Boards are established by individual cities that have annexed to the King County Library System (KCLS). Members of these community boards are appointed by and serve in an advisory capacity to City officials on matters regarding the KCLS community library they represent.
